1.) The Train Incident
His devotees tell many stories about his miracles. Now, Ram Das, one of his devotees, told a story about Baba Ji boarding a train without any tickets, so the ticket collector immediately stopped the train and forced Baba Ji out of the train at village Neem Karoli, Uttar Pradesh, but the conductor realized the train would not start again. They tried every possible way to start the train, but nothing was working. Someone advised the conductor to let the Baba Ji board the train, so he requested it, and the Baba Ji accepted the request, but on two conditions:
- If the railway company promises to build a railway station at the Neem Karoli village because the villagers have to walk miles to the nearest railway station,
- And the railway staff and faculty should treat the Sadhus with respect.
The officials agreed to both of their conditions, then Baba boarded the train. Immediately after his boarding, the train started but was not moving. The driver realized this and informed Baba Ji that the train would not move until he received his blessings. Afterward, Baba Ji gave his blessing, and then the train started moving. Later, as promised, the railway company built a station in Neem Karoli.
2.) The Devastating Flood
Another one of Neem Karoli Baba’s miracles occurred once upon a time when a devastating flood struck the city of Allahabad. Due to high water levels, even Allahbad’s fort was damaged by the Ganges and Yamuna rivers. A high risk of erosion existed for Hanuman Mandir along the River Ganges. The priest of that temple became extremely concerned and asked the defense minister, Dr. Katju, who was in Allahabad for help, what the army could do in such situations. While they were talking, Baba Ji arrived at the place, went to the river, took some water from the river, and sipped it, while saying, “It will go, it will go.” After three days, the water level dropped, and the temple was safe.
3.) The Transformation of Water into Ghee
In June 1991, there was a large crowd of people in the Kainchi Dham Ashram. Police officers could not handle the situation because of the crowd. People came from all over the world. Food was never in short supply. That day, though, ghee was in short supply in the temple, so Baba Ji’s disciples requested help. He asked one of his disciples to take some water from the river in pitchers, and the disciple did as Baba Ji instructed; he took some water from the river, and by the time he reached the kitchen, the water in the pitcher had become ghee. It was a surprise to everyone when Neem Karoli Baba performed miracles.
These were some of the many Neem Karoli Baba’s miracles.
